I got the head on my '87 Turbo worked on after finding out it had a leak on the exhaust of cylinder 1. It turns out both valves were bent so the machine shop reground the seats and installed good valves from another head I have. I installed the head and the engine runs like it should, very smooth at idle and better power. I've got new plugs, NGK's, and the timing is right on.
Here are the test values:
15 mph measured max
CO2% 13.9 n/a
O2% 0.8 n/a
HC ppm 213 114
CO% 0.52 0.73
NO ppm 2117 785
25 mph
CO2% 14.2
O2% 0.6
HC ppm 165 88
CO% 0.44 0.61
NO ppm 1639 724
From the CO it looks like I'm possibly running on the rich side, but the NO seems to indicate lean with high combustion temps.
Is is possible the cat is gone since I've run the car several thousand miles with these bent valves? Also, what should the CO2 be? I seem to remember reading here that it should be 0.1 to 0.2%, is this correct and is that measured after the cat?
