I had this happen once on my 87 900 turbo and recently on my 94 9k Aero. When you put the key in make sure to press in hard becuase the cylinder must depress before you can turn it. Take the key in and out a couple of times before making sure to press it in hard each time so the cylinder depresses (To all the guys out there this should be starting to sound remarkably like sex. You start off slow then you keep slamming it harder till you find the position it likes. :) ) The beauty of this system is once you get the key to turn this problem will never happen again because I am pretty sure the tumblers just give up. At this point both of my cars will run even with the key out of the ignition. Great if you forget something in the house and need to go unlock it after starting the car. Also the old Saab will start will just a screw driver. If anyone in NY wants to steal it feel free cause it is worth more in insurance claims at this point.
