The TCS system of the V6 is NOTHING like the system on the 4-cyl. engines. The fundamental difference lies in the fact that for the 4 cyl. Saab for some reason chose to have the TCS system and You ( by means of the accelerator) operate the same throttle butterfly. Ergo: it needed a drive by wire since the butterfly had to be controlled electronically.
The V6 actually has 4 butterflies, two pairs. The front ones are operated by the accelerator by means of a classic cable/ rocker lever construction. About 4 inches behind that is a second pair, operated by the TCS computer.
At rest they are in full-open position. When the TCS OFF is activated, they are in full-open position, too, and should NOT interfere with the driving.
Fundamentally much better than the 4-cyl., if you want to fit such a system in the first place.
I don't think the symptons you experience have anything to do with the TCS. If TCS would somehow interfere still, your jerking and loss of power would be persistent, not 'sometimes' . I would first look into the classic causes of said symptons, which is vacuum leaks (tighten clamps, clean IAC),plugs??, fuel pump, filter? and it never hurts to clean the TB and check the throttle cables.
Good luck,
JAn Geert
