...or wood insert, but hard to find. I've got that lighter, open-grained wood, not sure what it is (Bird's Eye?). I like the wood on the center console lid; otherwise, I'd do as you suggest and just get a new piece of vinyl to pop on there.

My first attempt was with contact cement, but the warped sections pulled up again. Maybe I used the WRONG contact cement...
