It's there, it just needs to be drilled out and threaded ;-). Tom Townsend does it - he knows just the right place where you almost never hit a reinforcing rib.
When you do change the oil, be aware that motor oil these days will often have "friction modifiers", stuff that makes the oil more "slippery", and similarly will interfere with the functioning of the synchros. If the oil has the ILSAC "Starburst" symbol, I wouldn't use it in a tranny. The most readily available alternative is diesel engine oil, which generally lacks this feature. Further, diesel oil has extra anti-wear and EP additives, just the shot for gearboxes.
Another alternative is a transmission specific oil. RedLine is one choice. I used it on a '91 with excellent results - markedly improved shifting and no apparent impact on longevity. Others have reported failures which they attribute to RedLine. Another choice widely discussed in the 900 BB is Honda MTF. One benefit to using it is there is absolutely no information as to what it is, so you don't have to worry about this feature or that feature. All the label says is "use this in trannies." I put it in Ms. Jessica's C900, and a year later it seems to shift pretty well for a C900, doesn't leak out, and the trans hasn't broken. Prior it had heavy, black, stinky gear oil.
