It has central locking Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Wed, 28 Apr 2004 12:55:32 In Reply to: Central locking on 94 Aero, Diamond Dave, Wed, 28 Apr 2004 11:24:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just not remote capability.
The 9000 has had central locking capability for years - lock the driver's door, and the rest lock. Unlock the driver's door, and they all unlock. That's the definition of central locking. Being able to do that with a remote is Remote Central Locking.
There are aftermarket solutions available. There is no lock actuator on the driver's door. You can retrofit one from a junkyard, and tie an aftermarket remote locking system to it. All the actuator does is push the lock button up or down.
Just remember that depending on the year, the alarm is actuated by the key lock in the door, not by the lock button. So depending on how your car is set up, a remote central lock may or may not enable/disable the alarm.
