The main pulley bolt isnt' that bad. If the car is a manual tranny, just putting it in gear should do the trick. Even a impact wrench against the engine compression may do it.
I use the Townsend trick - I run the engine and then pull the fuel pump fuse, so the engine dies. I then disconnect the ignition - so the engine can't start. Stick a socket with a breaker bar hanging down, just forward of the lower A-arm. Give the starter one blip - the breaker bar will whomp the A-arm. Make sure the socket is still set properly, and repeat. Takes about a dozen whomps, but the nut will be loose. But I'll bet the impact does the trick - it really isn't that tight.
As to the main seal, do both. If you pull the oil pump to get to the O-ring, the seal is in the oil pump. You've effectively taken it out. Putting the seal in is such a non-event, I would take the opportunity to replace it. Even if it isn't leaking now, it will be, so why do this twice? The only trick is to put the seal in at a different depth than the old one. So measure how far in the old one is from the pump face, and either leave the new one out a little more, or in a little more. that way the new seal runs on crank surface that hasn't seen a seal before. But I would do both, and not worry about getting in there again for a long while.
