Hi all,
I first noticed this problem a couple of weeks ago. My car sleeps in an apartment complex underground garage, and one morning, I fired it up, slid into first, give it a touch of gas, let out the clutch....clunk - stall. Restart, try again... engine stutters, but I get going. I think nothing of it and drive off.
Few days go by, no problem.
Happens again, but not as bad - I learn if I am very gentle with the throttle and gas for the first few starts in the morning, then it's okay.
Few days go by, no/little problem.
I went to fire it up a couple of hours ago - the car had not moved in about 36 hours. Turn key to "On"...wait for all lights to go off...start engine...wait for more lights to go off...give it a bit of gas...and it stalls straight away.
Restart...
I played around with it a bit and I noticed if I blip the throttle too quickly when it's cold then it'll bog/stall - if I press very slowly, it's fine. Hmm... I revved and held it at 2500rpm, then quickly gave it a stab which should have just blipped it up to 3500 or something...and it bogged down to 500rpm and I had to keep my foot on the accellerator to keep it from stalling.
I let it idle for about two minutes, drove off, no problem.
My gut says it's a fuel delivery problem, though it could certainly be the dreaded electronic throttle body...
Any ideas?
