Just installed my new fuel pump (definately more than a 10 min job... I'll save that for another post)
Now... My idle is sometimes rough after a warm restart - actually the engine sounds as if it is dieseling and won't stop unless I give it more gas ?
A couple times I have had very hard starting with continuous cranking required before it will start. I even had a no start situation that just went away after rechecking electrical connections 5 times and adding a bit of gas in case the fuel gauge was wrong. Gauge is fine but my nerves are getting frayed.
I just swapped the fuel pump relay with the daytime running lights relay to see if it is an issue... no hard start issue yet but it still did the I need more gas on restart even after the relay swap
all that said when it does start up as expected it requires way less cranking than it did with the old pump...
what next ? My wife is not to keen on being stranded again...
Time to join an auto club ??
