I just dont think it's going to happen... because in most decks today, when you open them up the ONLY thing you are going to see is a circuit board. So unless you feel like soldering wires to traces on the circuit board i think you're out of luck... but i'll humor you both for a second...
there are two places i can think of to "tap" any sort of stereo signal input into the deck... right before the volume control circuit, so you can control yout volume of your music with the volume button obviously, or somewhere after that volume circuit, but obviously BEFORE the internal amplifier.
If you weren't able to tap in before the volume control circuit (pre-amp) then, in order for the input signal to be the correct level (voltage) for the amplifier in the head unit to deal with, (so that it SOUNDS right) you'd basically need to add a volume control circuit (voltage control) of your OWN to the sigal chain... for example, i guess you can use the headphone output of the cd player... but it'll never sound GOOD... Ever, no way, period. ;)
Sorry to make it sound harsh like that, but expensive audio equipment costs money for a reason, because it has high quality electronic compoents all working together in perfect audio signal flow so that the quality of sound is perfectly preserved in it's journey from the medium (cd, tape) to the speakersto be represented... howeve... it's a whole different story COMPLETELY to KEEP it sounding good all of th way to your EARS!
They sell decks in walmart than have 1/8th inch cd player inputs on the front of them for like $50. I gurantee if you bought one of those decks, and plugged your cd player into it, it would SOUND BETTER than what you are thinking of doing to your good deck. Just sell yours and buy a new one.
Just buy a nice cd player, you'll feel so much better! You can get used ones CHEAP on ebay... thats where i got mine
good luck
