...that when the wastegate line "blows off", there is NOTHING the car's electronic systems can do to limit the boost going to your engine.

the W hose is the ONLY thing that allows for the "overboost" switch or any other electronic safety switch to LIMIT the turbo output.

If the W hose is removed, in short, there is NOTHING your engine can do to protect itself from too much boost. The engine is at the mercy of the turbo gods at that point... and the gods have not been merciful to you so far. ;)

So...

i suggest that you get some 1/8" clamps for next time, like most saab 9000's with BPC's have STOCK... and clamp that w hose on the BPC SECRUELY...

the car comes stock with little butterfly hose clamps that work fine for holding our w hoses on, but i'm sure you can find some other clamp with the means of tightening the W hose on there. I could probably find a bag of them for under $2, and that $2 would save you lots of money and time... especially if this has happened more than once.

If you got to 22 psi.... i'm not surprised that you blew a head gasket.
that's way to much boost for an unmodified engine. I only get 20 psi... and i've got custom engine management computer programs running, on a custom built cylander head...

it sounds to me like something is not connected correctly...

like two of the fuel injector wires are swapped around. like the number 2 cylander and number 3 cylander fuel injector wires are swapped, causing your problem. It'd take 15 minutes to double check... or you could argue with me some more....

or the cam timing is off... which can be more difficult to check... but that's a definate possibility.

I don't mean to be a doush-bag, but i brought up the issues with the auto to 5 speed swap stuff because in my mind, it tells me you didn't have all of the information on how to do the swap correctly, and even though the car ran fine for a while, something had been wrong the entire time....

...the BEST advice i can give you, seriously, is to bring to to Jak's shop. The fact that no one else is really replying on your post means that we're all not sure what it is exactly that is wrong with your car, and you're going to have to bite the bullet and see a specialist.

The sooner you do, the sooner your car will work...

problems like this aren't things that most ordinary people have the capability of fixing on their own... it doesn't mean you're a "failure" it just means you need some help.

so...

that's my 2 cents.
