Nissan's 3.5 no match for a 9K...TWICE !!!

Was driving home on the highway last night, following a brand new Maxima in the passing lane. Since it was not moving at a pace that I felt should be kept in the fast lane, I finally decided to move to the right lane and move on. Just at that moment, it starts to speed up, obviously pedal to the metal since smoke was pouring out of the dual mufflers (un-spent fuel from hitting the gas pedal too hard). I decided to take it on, since I had never been up against one of these before, and to see what it had. We stayed next to each other, until I decided to put pedal to the floor, and then shifted into 4th ("D"rive), and left him behind me. It then decided to bow out of the competition since another open area of the highway was available, but it decided to stay at a conservative pace in the right lane.
A few minutes later, I am behind an Infiniti FX35, which decided to weave in and out of the moving traffic (something I completely dislike, since it involves other drivers). Upon an open area of the highway, I got myself behind it, then it decided to give chase, which, of course, was fruitless. Again, I moved to the other lane, and did just as I had done to the Maxima.
I found it quite amusing that I was able to have some "fun" with two different flavors of the same engine that Nissan has put out, with the Infiniti FX35 having that engine tuned slightly higher (albeit a heavier vehicle).
