A low restriction intake *may* provide some additional power or response, but as Joe98 notes, it will be minimal. To get more power you also need to improve the exhaust to improve the airflow thru the entire system. In rough terms, an engine is basically a pump, and the most efficiency comes when BOTH the intake and output (exhaust) sides of the pump are optimized for the volume of air the pump can handle.
