The heat should help. I have had better luck with frozen bolts since using AeroKroil instead of penetrating oil... you may want to try that.
IMHO, you should prepare to take the tranny out. Think about it... you already know that the clutch system is not working properly. The bleeder valve is super-crusty, so it's not a stretch to think that there's more crustiness to be found. I know, I hate taking the tranny out, too.
Hopefully, you can break that bleeder free, bleed the clutch, and drive the car for years... I think the chances are pretty slim, though.
