of the turbo into the intercooler and from the output of the intercooler
to the intake pipe. A leak in these pipes and/or the intercooler end
caps could result in "no boost".

It is very rare to have a problem with the turbo itself. Most turbo failures
are caused by seals leaking and causing excessive smoke.
