hey guys, ive searched through this bb for hours and hours but i just cant find any solutions to the problem ive got. so please someone!!
93 9000 cse 2.3FPT.
problem- my car does not hold its boost.
while accelerating i can get it to reach 10PSI (something is wrong) but the second i hold the throttle steady the boost drops off back to nothing, somewhere like 18hg.
i can get it to peak at 13PSI when i remove the blanking nipple on the throttle body and create a vacuum leak.
ive replaced all the vacuum lines. evap canister line seems good.
ive tried sucking on the tube from the turbo bypass valve and the valve seems to be fine.
the W hose at the apc is air tight and the other 2 flow in and out freely.
the car idles well enough at 19hg vacuum.-so i assume no leak.
cruise control works erratically.
car has done 112K miles.
it does not have TCS.
ive built myself a cold air intake so the intake noise is quite loud. i can hear the turbo bypass valve whooshing and releasing air even if i accelerate slowly with very low psi.
so far my only guess is a busted bypass valve but it seems fine when sucking on the vacuum hose.
spark plugs are less than 5K km old. they look very clean(lean)
DI cassette was replaced sometime after 97.
whats going on?!?! where does my boost go?
