While I agree that many car speakers are 4 Ohms instead of 8 Ohms, saying 4 Ohm speakers are characterized by, "Less power needed to hear a set volume level. " is a little confusing to me. Maybe you just meant a lower position on the volume knob.
Typically electrical power is associated with amps not volts and driving 4 Ohm speakers requires more amps than 8 Ohm speakers (i.e. more power not less).
4 Ohm speakers are more popular in cars because the car's electrical system is only based on 12 volts. If I was replacing speakers, I would get speakers that match the originals in Ohms ratings, as they will match the amps characteristics better, but I don't know if the factory speaker's specs are actually 4 Ohm.
