Pesky axle on Younger Son's Civic si '89.. IS troublesome.. the outer CV joint does not come apart.. this means that the entire axle must be removed and dissasembled .. the new boot must be slid down the stripped axle onto the outer CV joint.. a minimum couple or 3 hours working quickly.. sigh.. although Dealer only charges $130 +- for the job.. so there must be an expedient way to do this... too bad the Kid has no extra $$
Dunno if newer ones are 'improved design'.. as my own car(s) are relatively new and DIY repairs aren't required.. ever :-)
