The way your LH-Jetronic FI system works is the amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine is measured mainly by the amount of air that passes thur Air Mass Meter(AMM).Any air thats introduced into the engine inback of the AMM is not measured and the results in a leaning of the mixture-not going richer.I don't know if the trip point of the burn-off cycle is 2500 rpm,my gut feel is it's higher than that rpm level.Thats why i said around 3500 rpm in the posting below this one. The problem with the AMM is the wire sensor as it being used it,becomes dirty with materials from the air passsing over it.And the engine ECU is sent a false signal that is underestimating the amount of air going into the engine-again leaning out the mixture. The burn off cycle is there to clean off the wire and establish the proper signal on the next start/engine runing cycle.

So Again it does not explane the rich running engine you have.

Does the dash display a Check Engine light when the engine is running, and have you read the code out???

I can't explain the rich running problem as of yet, other than dirty injectors.Electrically Unless there is a problem internal to the Engine control ECU-everything points to a leaning running engine-NOT RICHER. The injectors open OK when activated, but i feel they are closing more slowly than they should, when the current to them is turned off by the ECU.Thats why i asked you to listen to the injectors to see if you could hear a difference. But you don't have the experience level to hear any differences,it's not your fault. Boy do i wish i could be on site with your car to speed things along for you,Sorry. Get back with your answers to my questions and Lets get this car up and running down the road!!!!
