Anyone dealt with a stuck oil drain plug?

Has anyone had a really stuck drain plug on their 9000? My '92 9kt's plug just won't budge, no matter how hard I pull on it; it is locked solid.
The last time I had the oil changed, I took the car to a quick-lube place. When I got under it last week, I noticed that the drain plug bolt was a little rounded off. Well, I figured I could use vice grips or an adjustable jaw wrench and get it off. I tried, and I tried, and I tried with every ounce of strength.
All I really succeeded in doing was stipping the head more, which is now more of an oval than a hexagon at this point. Yes, I'm a dumbass. I made a bad situation worse. I just don't get how this could be locked in so tight. I mean, I've broken loose axle nuts with less effort than I've applied here. Perhaps the quick lube guys cross threaded the thing?
Anyhow, I guess the more important thing is, what to do now? Anyone had this same problem, and what did you do about it?
Thanks!
Ben
