I've had two crank pulley failures - one at about 80K miles/9 years, the other at 63K /12 years. I've also run 140K and 160K on original crank pulleys.
The nice thing about the crank pulley is that it is a relatively easy inspection. For the 9000, draw a line across the face of the pulley with some paint, and peek in there every once in a while.
If I had a car where I was replacing the crank seal and the pulley was coming off, AND the pulley had 100K or more miles on it, I might replace it just to have it done. That, and a leaky crank seal puts oil on the pulley, which degrades it faster. But frankly, the crank pulley on a 9000 isn't that hard a job. And with drawing a line on it, it's actually easier to know it is on the way out than an idler or tensioner pulley. The other give-away is to make sure the belt is tracking in the center of the tensioner pulley. Every time I check the oil, I peek at the main pulley, check the belt for wear, then start the car and check the belt tracking.
I think the possibility of a sudden crank pulley failure is remote. I'll bet they give plenty of warning, IF you can check them for shifting.
