Need opinions on what to do with my wife's 1993 cse turbo 5 spd transmission.

The symptoms are...

1) when I shift into 3rd or 4th, the stick "kicks" in my hand. And if it is already in 3rd or 4th and I suddenly accelerate, the stick also kicks back and forth.
It has been doing this for a few years but recently and only about 3 times, it pops out of 4th
2) the transmission doesn't make any unusual noises like anything is broken
3)sometimes it's hard to push into 1st and 2nd (that's most likely clutch related)

My choices are to replace with a good used one (I hear '94's and up are good); rebuild this one (if it's a gear, then the cost to do may be astronomical) or just leave it alone and replace the clutch and release bearing and hope is last for another few years.

The 3 mounts "seem" to be good from what I can see.

Any opinions much appreciated. My goal is to keep the car for another few years without spening too much for repairs.
