There are lots of folks here who will tap you for parts. Me included.
Your interior will go quickly, and both TSN classifieds and eBay will be a good place to make some bucks off this. Like jimtimkim says, you should be within range of a decent Saab at that point.

Financially, it may make seem to more sense to go with a beater Honda or Toyota, but there is no guarantee that one of those will be cheap to keep. A $1000 car is gonna have some issues, no matter what make it is.
