Mine lasted about 3 mo and then about 1400 mi from home it broke while driving about 100 mph, got it welded, after 50 mi broke in Virgin River Canyon Tow to Las Vegas, rental car, LA, Saab indy who had changed numerous AT to MT said he never changed intermediate housing. I insisted, no problem for 5 years. I believe at lower spees the stresses may be lower, but at high speed most likely the intermediate shaft will break.
