I am puzzled that you can use a solenoid from a different brand on the starter. I thought the solenoid housing is integral to the starter. Do you mean the coil of the solenoid you replaced? If it is, there isn't much help I can offer. I'd replace the starter if the solenoid is bad but the starter motor is good. That's the extent of my diagnosis and repair skill.
