Oil Pressure Switch? Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Mon, 25 Jul 2005 19:26:49 In Reply to: The other problem - oil leak, buckmath, Mon, 25 Jul 2005 16:12:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This sensor/switch is in the location you stated, it is subject to hot oil under pressure, and any car that I have had that's older than ten years has developed a leak from it or the part has failed. On my '94, it's located between the PS pump and the oil filler tube. The good news is that it's a common (generic) part, cheap, easy to change if you have the right deepwell socket (weird size like 1-1/8 inch, IIRC) and an extension.
