had that problem, but it is fixed, replaced front and rear expansion valves, still the same, low low side would NOT pull down below 65 - 70 lbs, Did some checking with the saab dealer parts ( jeff ) told what is happening, he looked compressor ##'s up for me, and the one with rear air takes a compressor with 2 more pistons ( if i remember correct ). Bought a new compressor from saab, installed it, vacum 1 hr, checked for leak, let sit for an hour, same vacum, got my Fluoro-lite/e Leak Detection Tracer dye, 1 oz in container for it, hooked low side ( blue ) to container, pigtail hose to low side of compressor, pushed the die and 39OZ of R12 in compressor, cranked car after 12OZ, it all went in.(Die is if a leak later easy to find , takes a special light and glasses to see. )
Drove the car, carried my Raytek MINITemp gun with me, it is putting air out at 42F outside temp 92F with heat index 99F. low side 33lbs, now
Do have a Refrigirant management center, recycle, vacum, and charge.
hope this helps.
Your compressor was almost with 100% ( guessing ) replaced with a regular rebuild unit for front air only. mine was, just learning
