Here's my method of chasing down battery drain issues:

I will say this - rarely, if ever, are dead batteries due to sneak current drains. It happens, but not very often. Stuck on brake lights, dome lights, and the dreaded trunk light, yes, on occasion. But they show up as, well, lights.
No matter what, you need a new battery. Car batteries are NOT designed to be fully discharged. Every time this happens, the battery loses life and capacity.
Discharge a car battery a few times, and it loses most of its capacity. How does it show this? It'll charge up really fast. And die really fast. If you need to jump the car every day, and have been doing this for a week or two, the battery is shot.
In fact, it is possible that you had a defective battery all along. It had an internal short, or something killed it once, and it lost what remained of its capability. Most batteries come with a warrantee (for a reason), and if it's only a few months old, you should be able to get a new one for no cost.
Run the test, and I'll bet you don't see more than about 35-40 ma. A decent battery can support that for weeks.
