when I tried plugging the suspect CSE radiator fan motor into the Aero, after the Aero was up to operating temp and the AC was cycling the fan on/off at low speed. So the 30 amp fuse does come into play on low speed [only saying this because some of the comments on the archives were a bit confusing, at least to me, about what the sequence of events were in normal operation and when the 30 amp fuse functioned]
I guess I've never had the fan go into high speed mode.
BTW, as we have had many coolant discussions on this board and the Townsend site, I converted the fleet over to the GM Dexcool fluid many years ago [eight? ten?] and I use distilled water in the mix, changing it at 30k, along with an 82 degree 'stat. The CSE shows no corrosion at the thermostat or water pump, no deposits in the head, and I can't see anything in the old radiator, either at 183,000 mi. I bought the car w/ 120k mi, same lack of coolant related problems w/ the 97 Aero that I bought w/ 22k on it, now at 90k. Never have used the Bars Leaks that is sometimes mentioned, either.
