I chuck the torx screw

And just use the wheel locating pin/bolt to hold the rotor to the hubs. It took one time with a siezed torx screw experience to forever cure me from re-installing the redundant torx screw.
Like everyone says, the lug bolts go through the disk into the hub and provide all the strength needed.
One exception may be if you ever need to run the drivetrain with the wheels off (for some crazy diagnosis technique, perhaps???) that you may want the discs firmly secured to the hubs.
I say chuck 'em!
