Normal ABS function would be, if driving down a butter-soaked piece of toast (slippery), that the brake pedal would thrum in the manner you describe. It's just the normal super-fast pumping action of the ABS system, preventing the wheel(s) from locking up.
A common malady in 9000s is that even at low speeds on non-buttered toast, the pedal will briefly grumble at you and often the ABS light will flash at you at the same time. This is generally a dirty or (most often) bad ABS sensor at one or more wheels, sending faulty signals to the computer.
Some have had luck cleaning the shuttle wheel of the offending corner(s), but seemingly the normal fix is to replace the bad sensor, about $100 or so for the sensor. Not a hard job, but it's recommended to get a Tech II or ISAT scan of your car to determine which is the bad corner first.
Now, off hand I don't remember if under normal ABS intervention the light will come on to alert you -- I don't think so.
If the ABS light's coming on exiting corners, I'd wonder if it's still a sensor issue, or perhaps something screwy with a valve somewhere in the works. Does the brake fluid light also come on? In any case, as long as your brakes are basically functioning as they should, you're probably in fine shape generally speaking.
On the topic of Bar's Leaks: DON'T!!! This is an acceptable product IF you have a problem already, and a cheap car you don't really want to fix properly (or right away). I'd think you've got enough into your car you don't want to venture in the BL direction. There are many cases of this normally innocuous material causing major, catastrophic cooling system problems.
You're going to see many posts taking issue with my attitude of Bar's Leaks, but don't take the chance.
