Shaolin patience with a light hammer, punch and/or screwdriver to loosen the sealing collar whilst cracking out the ears on the inner side of the collar OR you can go to Home Depot, buy about 14" to 16" of 1/8" flat metal in a width appropriate to the spacing between the individual ears on the sealing collar, and bend the flat metal twice w/90 degree angles to make a nice U-shaped tool which is of ENORMOUS help in getting the collar loose.
