Brian, thanks a bunch the tranny looked like it would be really heavy and the car is jacked up on stands. I have placed wooden blocks under the engine to stabilize it when the TX is removed- maybe not the best way but it is a way. Seems really solid. I am going to remove the driver's single mount tomorrow and support the transmission on a motor cycle jack- looks sort of like a transmission jack. I plan to remove the under frame and lower the transmission that way seems pretty simple compared to removing with the engine. The hood was removed. I can only work on Wednesdays so I need to rush all I can tomorrow. That little plate is an interesting thing it has not been touched in 16 yeaars and so what at one time may have been a screw/bolt is all rusted away and the plate is covered with corrosion. Some one said there was a plastic gizmo that covered the slot but mine has the aluminum cover plate that is some how held into place. Don't really know if it needs to be removed or not. I think it must be there for some purpose, SAAB is very thoughtful. I looked at another SAAB and there was no cover at all on that hole. I will try to find a SaAB auto transmission manual as you suggested but none of the parts stores had anything like that is it only available from SAAB? Mucho Thanks
