instead of blocking radiator, how about unplugging fan?

that should simulate keeping the loop open, it would take longer for the temperature to rise during normal operation, (assuming a bad t-stat) plug fan back in once needle starts to rise and if it drops slowly back down all the way, that's probably it.

I know it's much easier for everybody (who doesn't have to get out there and pull apart our cars in the cold) to throw ideas at our friend Yaofeng but it sounds like an open T-stat to me as well.

I live in NJ. The kerosene heater was a very welcome addition to the garage 5 years ago. $100 at harbor frieght delivered, very efficient, as long as it is insulated.
