Use some old credit gift cards

I decided to clean out the switch pack after the roof switch got too sticky to tolerate, probably due to some past event of the carbonated beverage kind.
Slide the credit cards into the slot, and jiggle them past the latching tabs; two on each side, one at the middle of the two upper rockers, and the other at the off/on lockout switch position. One tab is at the center of the front side, and two at the outside edges on the rearward side.
Once you get the credit cards alongside the four tabs on the sides, the front should lift away with just some light prodding.
I disassembled the pack to clean it out, which can be done with a thin screwdriver to slide under the cover and disengaging the locking tabs.
Take off the bottom cover first, which gives you the clearance to slide under the upper cover, which holds the main switch contacts together.
Be sure to keep the switch pack upright, with switches facing upright, as you remove the cover, because the switch contacts can fall out of position otherwise, and you'll have to spend some time sorting them back into place.
Cleaned out the sticky gunk in the recess of the contacts, put a bit of grease in to relubricate it, and it's back to smooth operation again.
This is probably why there are no cupholders in the area... no more soda in the car, kids-
