I remember reading a thread months ago where the person posted about a tinny sound eminating from the auto trans (left side of engine), describing it as "metal washers or nuts shaking in a tin can", or something to that effect. I searched the archives and could not find the thread.
Could that person (or anyone with insight) respond to this thread, and inform me as to what the outcome was? I am/have been experiencing the same sound, and want to know what to do about it. It presents itself upon initial start-up in the morning, then disappears after a few minutes at idle (once the car starts to warm up). I am not having any tranny problems to mention (thank goodness), but want to avoid any if this is the start of something. It definitely comes from the bottom driver's side of the engine, and really sounds like it is coming from the tranny case. I regularly maintain the ATF, and the tranny mount bushing is fairly new (approx. 20K miles on it).
