The engine doesn't seem to move much while it's idling, i don't think there's enough residual vibration after the engine is shut off to have the noise be a motor mount issue...
I'm starting to think the noise is from within the engine or trans...
Flywheel moves a little after engine is shut off, but I'm not sure that would creat the kind of sound I'm hearing...
It reminds me of when my shop vac tips over and the ping pong ball gets sucked up and blocks suction, when i shut off the shop vac, the ball is released and it bounces a little within its small area of movement...
What creates the noise seems to move freely after the key is turned...
If I had to guess, I'd say driver's side over passenger side, lower engine as opposed to upper engine, back as opposed to front, but it's hard to pinpoint sound standing at engine, it's only really noticeable inside car.
Maybe something is loose somewhere, I'm just not sure, but it sounds in direct relation to engine RPM, which is strange to hear it after engine is turned off, something must move freely after key is turned off and carry with it momentum..
