ratchets, 1/4" won't be strong enough for breaking nuts loose without shearing ratchet head.

an inexpensive digital camera is also useful (1mp/2mp) for taking pics before you start and as you go so you have an idea of placement of things and can refer back as you go along. clear written notes are good too, make sure they will be useful to you if you were to go back and read them in 6 months, less likely to be frustrated that way as you're working.

good tools do cost more to begin with, but you will spend less overall as you're not buying the same thing over and over as you ruin the cheap ones. when get frustrated, take a break, have a cup of tea, and don't throw things to vent your spleen, you will end up breaking something expensive or unavailable (british cars behave same way lol).

double check everything when you're done and follow the instructions as far as steps go so you don't try a "shortcut" and end up having it cost you later.
