You haven't indicated what year and type of Saab, On my '97 Aero 5 speed it takes about 30 min. Remove screwed down nipple from cylinderhead cover towards firewall. Lie on egine and remove two electrical connections and one bolt that holds starter. Then remove battery and between hoses you can find other starte bolt that you can remove. Actually I removed them in other sequence so I could hold starter when removing bolt. It is unnecessary to remove anything else.
