There's really no simple answer to your question, but only more questions. How much and for how long do you want a dead car hulk sitting in your yard or garage while you part it out? How enthusiastic are you about disassembling the whole car, posting ads for the various parts, and packing each one up and shipping them? Does the car have any sentimental value, such that maybe you'd rather see it sold to somebody who will bring it back to some of it's former glory? Do you have limitless spare time and your only concern is making the most money possible?
No question about it, you can make the most money by parting it out, by far. But, you still have to find buyers for the parts, just as you would for the whole car, and buyers are getting more scarce for either.
