Man 'o' man...you must really love your car. But, don't fuss so much over the oil vis. Saab recommends 5-30, 0-40 and I am sure others in between will work as well. Here is my 2 cents.
1. I want immediate lubrication at start-up. So, the 0 wins over the 5 on the low vis.
2. I want to feel confident that my turbo and engine are well protected at higher operating temps. So. I like the 40 on the higher side of the vis.
That makes my selection easy.....0-40 vis. syn. Mobile 1. I recently made a switch on one of my cars to the Mobile 1 Delavc? formulated for diesels, because the place where I had it changed did not have the normal stuff. I will probably switch back to the reg blend until I have a better understanding of the long term effects of delvc on the engine seals. If it appears to be a better choice....I will stick with it. Bottom line...If you change it every 3k or so, your engine will last forever.
