this was just my experience with the JT on my '93. If I were doing it again I might well go for the Group 9 offering. The JT flex section rusted after 3 years but the replacement was stainless steel wire and looked much higher spec.
General driveability was really improved (my car is an automatic) and the power just seemed to arrive earlier and stay there seamlessly. I did have to adjust base boost a tadge after fitting. It seemed to add perhaps 10 bhp, plus it can be exploited by ECU tuners to achieve stages 2 or 3 depending on whether it's cat-back or turbo-back.
Only two downsides for me were a bit more noise, and grounding problems with a lowered car (Abbott/Konis). The JT was tricky to fit and align and maybe it was hanging a little low - plus the cat was under the car rather than in the downpipe. The noise was nice, really, and you only realise the difference when you get back into a standard car. General observation - some stainless exhausts seem to make more of a ringing noise that the equivalent mild steel system - don't know if that applies to the Saab ones on offer.
On the '97 Anniversary I currently have an Ebayed Abbott back box, with that lovely oval tip and a swanky lttle badge for all to see. The unit gives the exhaust note an extra je ne sais quoi and now I've got the badge, maybe I don't have to rush to buy the rest of the system!
