Finally got the Parrot CK3000 bluetooth carkit to work properly. I made the intial mistake to splice into the wiring harness that comes out of the Clarion headunit on my '95. But since I have the additional amp under the passenger seat I was 'rewarded' with an extremely loud and humming telephone sound. Took the splice out, soldered the original plug back on and run two pairs of wires from the carkit harness to the front speakers instead. Did not venture into doing the same for the rear speakers, I think the sound from the front should be sufficient. The audio muting facility will take the rear speakers out anyway during phonecalls. Yes, the Clarion headunit has that facility! (didn't expect it). It also puts a nifty "TEL" on the display while calling.
So there I have a perfectly integrated carkit that is ' invisible' . Incoming calls are answered automatically, for outgoing I can use voicedialing.
The existing dashmount is now used for a PDA-based satnav with voice instruction. The sat antenna I placed under the windshield in the utmost right front corner. No cables to be seen anywhere.
Did I mention I like the setup?
Spring season is here again, cruisin' with the sunroof open. Can't wait.
Greeting from The Netherlands,
Jan Geert
