and as far as I know, SAAB recommends the same for these 9k engines. In fact, they say to use 20W-50 in warm (20+ C) temperatures. Maybe they recommend the 0W for the newer engines in the 9-5 and 9-3. I dunno and I'm not condemning anyone for using the thin stuff, esp if they drive conservatively. BTW, not all HP racers use M1, there are a lot of Castrol users too. Me, I drive 200+ kph (125MPH+) on a daily basis almost and am approaching 400k miles on my original engine (with original turbo too). She still feels as tight and quiet as years ago and will still do 250. To me, this is not only a testimony of the oil I use (not M1) but moreso to the quality of the engines SAAB used to build.
