I did a stage 2 SQR upgrade for my '91 9kt. The transmission has been fine, but I don't drive it hard very much, and I try to shift it smoothly. My biggest concern with the SQR software is that there is a noticeable dip in the torque curve at about 3K rpm. Below this, boost goes well into the red, but above this, it behaves just like the stock programming. The dip in the torque curve is irritating. You get thrown forward a bit as the power abruptly drops off. Then it comes back on at about 3500 rpm, but not as strongly. If I had it to do again, I'd try another brand. When I have some time, I'm going to put back in the stock ECU. Maybe Jak can reprogram the chips from SQR for me some day. I might try that.
