I'd run a tank of known good gas. I'd also do a tune-up, unless you're sure all the appropriate bits are fresh. The Trionic system can control fuel flow, boost, and the ignition timing of individual cylinders. Boost is usually adjusted last. Boost is a measure of air pressure, not power. If the Trionic has retarded the timing, you can still get high boost levels, but power will be down.
I'd also do an adaptation run. Check the archives or do a Google search.
I've found that newer 9000's don't feel quite as fast as the 'golden age' of '91-93, when the 2.3T first showed up. But I suspect the newer cars are just as fast - they're a lot smoother, so they might not feel quite as quick.
Lastly, we're dealing with two cars, one 12 years old, one 14. It's unreasonable to think they both have the same performance as they did when new. Some cars get faster with time, others slower. So do what you can to make sure the car is in tip-top condition, and then enjoy the heck out of it.
