New clunk in the front end - bushings? something loose?

Okay, here's the story. Sorry it's so long. Last week, I went in and replaced the front left hub on my '91 9000. Went pretty smooth, aside from running into a CV boot that had lost one of its clamps. I refilled it with grease and popped another clamp on.
Now, I've found a new noise. It's a light clunk. When I first start to let of the clutch, it gives one. Then, when I'm going slow (say, 20 or less), and I turn the wheel, it will give one or sometimes several. At first I was worried about the CV joint, but quickly realized that the noise is not side-specific, and also that it doesn't happen continually when I'm turned to the side. Next, I checked the lugs. Totally tight.
So now I'm looking for something else. It wasn't a problem before, so I'm pretty sure it was part of this repair. Here are the options I've come up with:
Bolts that hold on the hub.
Nut that goes on the end of the drive shaft (but probably not, because I checked the torque when I put it back on).
Bolts that hold the brake caliper on.
Bolt that holds the rotor to the hub.
Rather than disconnecting the whole thing from the strut, I disconnected the strut/brake/hub assembly from the control arm (three small bolts on the bottom); could it be these?
I think that's about it, except for the two that make me cringe - a CV joint gone bad in a really strange way, or (even worse) something to do with the steering rack. Any ideas?
