This is strange. So before I was getting about 240 miles a tank on my Saab. I noticed that my other car, the mazda, wasn't getting very good gas mileage either. I always fill both cars up at the Chevron near my house. My friend borrowed the mazda and filled up at Shell. Well my mazda is getting great mileage now. It was getting 260 miles for 12 gallons and this time it got 330 miles. Now this could be a fluke although I havnen't seen it get 330 miles in years. All of the driving was local. My friend only drove the car for 100 miles.

So on my Saab I just put a new coolant temp sensor in. I also filled up with 89 octane shell instead of 87 octane chevron. I did both of these things at the same time. I'm not sure which affected it although I'm guessing it is the coolant temp sensor. But right now I am at 250 miles and I am a little under half a tank. The car has a lot more power as well. On my next tank I am going to fill up at the local chevron with the 87 octane gas to see if it was the coolant temp sensor being replaced that fixed the gas mileage problem.
