The wheel does not tilt. It only telescopes.
Changing the transmission oil every 3K miles is excessive. The manual doesn't see the temperature swings and combustion products that the engine sees.
Dino oil is fine for a manual tranny; synthetic is better. The primary advantage of the synthetic is the car shifts nicer at very cold temperatures. Otherwise, I don't think the transmission oil is highly stressed.
