endless heat question.... Posted by vtsnaab [Email] [Profile/Gallery]

Hi All.
In my otherwise wonderful '91 9KT, there is a problem with the heat
control lever, not the actuator motor and sadly not fixable with
the funny steel lever kit from the dealer - I think the shaft has
separated from the lever.
Taking the entire system apart to find and fix this has me less
than enthusiastic, but even worse is the idea of heat 365 days a
year, so:
Is it possible to arrest the heat another way without risk to the
cooling system/engine, like maybe a bypass or a manual valve ?
I need cooling alot more than I need heat most of the time and it'd
be much better for me if there was an easy band-aid fix I could do
so the A/C becomes the 1st priority instead of the heat problem !
Thanks for any info or suggestions !
